Ellie played 'Jolly Old Saint Nicholas' on the piano for her elementary school Christmas concert. She did a very good job, we are very proud of her!

My Favorites of Thanksgiving this year.

During Thanksgiving we reflect on what we are thankful for, I talk with the kids and try to make them understand the wonderful blessings we've been given, the delicious food we prepared, the family we visit with, the neighbors we enjoy of their company,and the very delicious food~ did I mention that already?
I am a foodie, I love making it and most of all eating it, so Thanksgiving is a most splendid day for me, but everything must come to an end and now I am off and running with my Christmas cookies. Matt I plan to give it my best effort to increase your %! :)

Jingle Bells....

One of our favorite Thanksgiving Holiday traditions is ringing bells for the Salvation Army. We spend the time singing carols and wishing everyone a very "Merry Christmas", and although our voices aren't great, we are out of pitch and rhythm, people still smiled, complimented us, and dug down into their pockets.

Black Friday Midnight Madness

Another Black Friday is in the books and it was a fun one! The girls had crazy fun, even though they only had a couple hours of sleep! They helped Mom and Auntie Drea do some power shopping and take advantage of a whole lotta deals.

Piano lessons are going good and the girls are really enjoying learning something new. Thank you Grammi and Papa!

Halloween Fun 2011

There was a chill in the air last night but all the excitement kept us warm. Jace loved running from house to house with his big sisters and they did a great job holding his hand and making sure he said "thank you"! But I think their most fun was handing out treats after we made our rounds through the neighborhood! With 3 Halloween bags full, we will be on a sugar high until spring....

We had a slimy good time carving pumpkins this year! The girls wanted to color some too! Thank you Papa for all the wonderful pumpkins!

BOO!

The air is cool, the leaves are falling and the smell of apples and pumpkins are all around us.... let the BOOing begin! For the girls this is a favorite tradition, who will boo first, who will boo us, who will we boo? The excitement of running through the neighborhood by moonlight, sneaking and peeking, ghoulish and giggling, making sure not to get caught and watching our neighbors delight in their spooky treats frightfully delight us! Beware of the ghosts that roam, you might just be next......

Jace our little talker!

Jace has always been very vocal, since he was born, he has been making noise and at times very loudly, I still think we should have named him after his Papa (we all know how well HE loves to talk)! But lately he has been talking with quite a dialogue, this morning he comes running into the office saying " I'm scared, the monsters are out there!", of course he can't say his 's' but Mom knows what he is saying. Sometimes he surprises me with what he has to say, I still see him as my baby that I just want to snuggle but I know I must embrace this stage also. He definitely keeps his Mom and Dad laughing......

Girl's Birthday Gifts

This year for the girls birthday, they wanted to do something different, so they asked their friends to consider donating cat food instead of giving them a gift that they could donate to our local 'no kill' shelter.
They were really excited to help out all the kittens and cats, and on our visit they were able to spend sometime playing with them. We were able to leave without bringing one home with us, only on a promise that we would soon return with more donations and play time! :)

First Day of School 2011

Ellie is in 2nd grade this year and excited to be on the second floor of her elementary school with the big kids. Sydney is a Kindergartener already and can't wait to learn and be like her big sister!

Door County

Yesterday was the most wonderful day, if God called me to Heaven today I couldn't complain, he gave us a beautiful day to enjoy and that we did. We spent the day in Door County, first with a car show, then off to Whifefish Dunes and Cave Point. We enjoyed a picnic, swimming, hiking, and my favorite antiquing. I took a lot of pictures with my camera and my mind, it was a day I will never forget.....

It has been more than 3 years since you started your journey to become healthier and we are so proud of you Dad. You look great! :-)
