Ellie's Recorder concert

Ellie's 4th grade music class started working with recorders in February, they were given a set of songs, the next harder than the previous.  As they mastered a song they would receive a ribbon, the last/best ribbon was gold, Ellie worked very hard the past couple of months learning all the songs, she loves music so much, she wanted all the ribbons.
So Friday came and I forgot about the concert, after she told me, I thought I could get away with not attending, but it was very important to her so I fit it in the schedule.  The whole class started by standing and playing each song.  As the songs got harder and her class mates couldn't play the song, they sat down, the last 2 songs came down to just Ellie and another boy, they did great and for the final song Ellie was left standing alone, she played the piece wonderfully, I was so happy and proud of her.  Here I thought it was just a simple little play a few songs and be done but it was in fact wonderful to see how she was the only class mate to challenger herself, and for that she received a certificate which she holds dear to her heart.  Great job Ellie, I am so happy you are a hard worker and set your  goals high.
